Default HUI controler for iPad?

Someone seen this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIr_POhY8m0

Probably a kick off for a whole bunch of alternative edit-controllers or am I dreaming?

Maybe an original AVID controller in appstore for 9.99$ ?

Whishfull thinking? Or April´s fool topic?

best thing is: It offers automation mode buttons (unlike the C8). http://saitarasoftware.com/Site/AC-7_Pro.html

Plus the footprint is a fraction of the C8 and it´s wireless. I´ll keep an eye on this. In the end it´s HUI protocol so better try first.

Frank.

Ooooh, now that would be lovely for when recording a little bit of foley by yourself!

It's in the iTunes store now for a ridiculously low price. £5.99!

AC-7 Pro Latency: On OS X it's around 15ms...

mmmhh that will be noticeable I think.

yeah, but you're not going to do your serious mixing on it, are you? it'll mostly be used as a remote for when you're playing an instrument/recording foley or VO, that kind of deal. It's not going to replace a master console!

Thumbs down Re: HUI controler for iPad?

If you look at my post in a different thread I actually downloaded the version of this for the ipod and am having difficulty with it. The main reason I think is it's not really a true link between your computer and the ipod/ipad it uses the internet. This causes major issues in the fact that pro tools keeps failing to talk to the device and displays an error message. I have found nothing but faults with the program thus far. I will update you once I receive a response from the company I emailed them hoping for a solution to my problem. This may be user error but the instructions are pretty whacked out at least in my opinion. It's a great idea if the system was a bit more stable. In all honesty the faders pretty much don't react at all so the main use of this for someone would probably be transport controls. Unless of course the ipad version has a major advantage of the ipod version which is entirely possible.

I see it more in the edit room as a small footprint C8 plus no more mouse to access the automation controlls. That alone is worth the lousy 6$ plus the ipad.

Plus you don´t need a midi-cabeling plus interface etc.

15ms of latency would be a non-issue for my usage which is rough leveling of backgrounds and fx.

frank.
