Session in WAV format; bounce to disk in SD II??
I asked this earlier, but didn't get a definitive answer.
I am using WAV format for all sessions in ProTools 5.3 (HD 1, 192 I/O), but Toast will only accept SD II or AIF formats for burning a CD. QUESTIONS: Is there a loss/degradation of data if I use a different format than the session format when burning a CD? Is SD II better than AIF for burning a CD, or does it matter? |

Re: Session in WAV format; bounce to disk in SD II??
Hello,
There is no loss of data going from .WAV to SDII or .WAV to AIFF. Of course you will probably be dithering from 24bit to 16bit and maybe samplerate converting to 44.1k, but this is will be the same for all formats. SDII and AIFF files will both work equally well in Toast. Mike |
