How to bounce mp3 format to disk?
Hi,
I just tried to bounce some tracks to my disk in mp3 format. Pro Tools says that the MP3 can not be enabled because: Module initialization failed for MP3.dll. The MP3 demo period may have expired. Any way to fix this? How can I get my audio files on a cd if this occurs? Thanks again!! Tommy |

Re: How to bounce mp3 format to disk?
Hi Tommy,
Mp3 output needs to be purchased separately. Either you buy the option or you bounce as wav to disk and convert it after bouncing with a mp3 converter. On mac I use Swiitch and on windows a program called Super. Both are doing the job. Hth, Bow |

Re: How to bounce mp3 format to disk?
If I need an MP3 file I bounce a .wav or .aif and then convert to MP3 using iTunes. But you asked how you would get your audio files on a CD if you cannot bounce MP3 files, which make me wonder - what kind of CD are you creating?
If you are making a standard audio CD then you shouldn't use MP3 files at all! You should bounce 16 bit/44.1khz .wav or .aif files and use those to create your CD. Otherwise you are converting to MP3 and losing quality for no reason. |

Re: How to bounce mp3 format to disk?
Load your wav file in Audacity and export as MP3. Free and easy. You'll need to download the free Lame codec.
