Default Buying Advice

Happy New Year to you all, and thanks for your helpful posts throughout last year.

So, I'm soliciting opinions about how to fix some harshness that I feel is making it to disk. Current chain is AT4030a -> Avalon737sp -> Mbox. Vocals/Guit/Bass through that, and everything else inside the box.

The two main options I'm contemplating:
- Used Apogee Rosetta
- TLM103 (or similar)

After changing my preamp from TubeMP to Avalon, it was a whole new world and I am enthusiastic about upgrading the front end. Any feedback would be welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Proxy

Kind of a toss up eh? Or is everyone still recovering from New Years. I've seen more heated debate over what brand of patch cable to use - figured this one would be easy. : )

Which Apogee Rosetta?

I don't think you would notice a big improvement from the TLM over your AT. Difference perhaps, but not neccesarily better. Getting the Rossetta to convert from your Avalon WOULD be a big improvement. That would be a no brainer. Go with the Rossetta.

Cool. Thanks. I've been eyeing the older 48k 2-channel Rosettas on Ebay - they seem fairly affordable.

Thanks again,
