“Pro Tools.app” is damaged and can’t be opened.
Error message:
“Pro Tools.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash. Pro Tools 23.3.0.89, Mac OSX Ventura 13.2.1 Macbook Pro 2019, Intel 8-Core i9 2.3GHz, 16GGB RAM. Yeah, this happened a loot when upgrading to Ventura. Question: Is this going to keep happening? Cause it's a ton of fun. |

Re: “Pro Tools.app” is damaged and can’t be opened.
The error message is safety thing in macOS. I don't know the details, but the workaround is very simple; right-click on the app and select 'Open'. You'll get another dialogue 'are you sure' and it will open. You should only get this the first time.
I'm guessing it has to do with 'signed/unsigned' apps. Downloaded apps. I actually got it experimenting with a copy of the PT app, macOS somehow noticed that it was a simple copy, and the workaround worked.

Re: “Pro Tools.app” is damaged and can’t be opened.
I managed to download and manually reinstall Pro Tools. That solved this issue.
Ben Jenssen, it would not allow me to right click and open, as we used to do in previous OSX versions. The same error message popped up. Thankfully, this happened with over 6 audio applications, so really, it is mostly a "who knows why Apple decided this is the way"... they do silly stuff like that from time to time. If anyone else gets that error message, they'll know to reinstall manually. Last edited by noeqplease; 04-09-2023 at 02:31 PM. Reason: Spelling |

Re: “Pro Tools.app” is damaged and can’t be opened.
Ctrl-right click (Mac M1, Ventura) then select "Open" from the drop down list, then "Open" in the ensuing error message worked.
Redownloading and reinstalling did not prevent OSX from thinking ProTools was damaged. |
