Pro tools 8 LE unable to receive midi

you know, I think it may have happened even before the 8.0.1 update - and out of nowhere it seems.

actually yes...it started before the update. my gf had brought over her keyboard, it didnt work and i dismissed it as "the keyboard being effed". but then of course I opened AMS prefs and voila - test midi received.

so strange that both Logic 8 and AMS would receive midi but not pro tools - especially strange is that the midi that ams and logic are receiving is being PIPED IN VIA THE DIGI 02!

I've seen this problem before...



Follow these paths:



Setup>MIDI>Input Filter...

Make sure that "Notes" is not checked

(See Chapter20: MIDI Recording pg. 391 of the Pro Tools Reference Guide for more information).



Setup>MIDI>Input Devices...

Be sure your device is checked.

(See Chapter20: MIDI Recording pg. 390 of the Pro Tools Reference Guide for more information).

unfortunately those settings are already correct in my case.

also, isn't creating a brand new session just like a blank slate? would pro tools hang on to those setup prefs when creating from scratch? since I've never disabled midi data or my midi devices via setup, it doesn't seem like that could be the issue in my case.

someone in this thread will likely solve their issue via setup > midi.

VI as in virtual instrument?? Doesn't matter which instrument is loaded, not even receiving MIDI signal input to the instrument or MIDI channel.

I'd almost have to see it to tell u then... If u have Midi thru check, thatz almost all that is needed... I know TUNESPIN suggested this, so of course u do so as well TS, but u guys can shoot me the session files with the VI's on it & I'll see what I can see

put it in DROPBOX.YOUSENDIT.COM/LOSTSTUDIO

Just copy & paste that link & I'd only need the session file itself not the folder...

We're ur best bet man but if u don't want our help thatz kool too... I'm I'm using a ton of it on a session rite now on .1 (Garritan/Structure/Reason/Vienna/Stylus & Trilogy) with my Triton & my Axiom...but heyyy, what do I know...I tried...I'm out
