Opinions..Oxford Reverb vs Low End Hardware?
Just wondered what everyone thought....I've heard the Sony and liked it, but am wondering how it would stack up against the low end Lexicon and TC hardware units....those that sell for around 500.00....are these hardware units still going to be superior to a plug in? I'm particularly interested in long halls and the like for orchestral works. I'll be working on an 002 for a bit and the idea of having hardware relieving the RTAS demands is appealing, but not if it sounds like hell.
Thanks TH |

Re: Opinions..Oxford Reverb vs Low End Hardware?
I'll give you a A+ on the Lexicon gear. I love my MPX1 and even the legacy LXP series.
No worries about upgrade or maintenance programs and I can use them anywhere. ...and I don't have to watch the CPU creep up the scale. I also like Lexicon's stereo algorythms a whole lot more than most RTAS plugs.

If you're running them in RTAS, then yes, go with the hardware boxes. When you get an HD Accel system, definitely go software. I sold my PCM91, PCM81, and M2000 when I got my hands on Revibe. The Sony Reverb is next on my list. Absolutely awesome!!!
