I have recently purchased a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard.. My MBox2 Bundle came with PTLE 7.4.. I have not been successful in getting PTLE7.4 or my PTLE8.0 update to run..

I think I am sort of stuck as my computer came with Snow Leopard and it appears that my PTLE 7.4 can not be fully upgraded to 8.0.3pr.. I'm still trying to figure it out..

I wasn't even aware that Snow Leopard was now supported! I'm guessing 8.0.3 is an update that's supposed to be good friends with Snow Leopard? gosh, didnt even know about 8.0.2! must be living in the dark ages.

Digi has released a pre-release version called 8.0.3pr for Snow Leopard OS..

I have a new MacBook Pro that came with Snow Leopard but my ProTools installation DVD is PTLE 7.4.. It's not clear enough for me how I get PT running on my new MacBook Pro.

PTLE 7.4 does not even work on Leopard (click on the Compatibility & Upgrades link at the top of the forum).

Pro Tools LE 7.4.2 is a free update for 7.4 owners, and is qualified with Leopard:
www.digidesign.com/download742

You can try installing 7.4.2 (do not install 7.4 first, which, again, does not work on Mac OS 10.5 and higher). Depending on when you purchased your Mbox 2, you may or may not qualify for a free upgrade to Pro Tools LE 8. All of those details can be found if you read the Compatibility & Upgrades pages.

But no version is yet qualified with Snow Leopard (Mac OS 10.6). The Pro Tools 8.0.3pr prerelease is available for Pro Tools 8 owners:
www.digidesign.com/download/pt803pr

Digi Core Audio Manager is very buggy in SL. Have to use inconvenient work arounds. Not much fun. I definitely would not upgrade yet...

Using SL on my macbook pro, with PT LE8.0.3 I cannot get Protools to recognise the Mbox2 Micro. I just keep getting the "Protools hardware not found " error message.
It worked before the upgrades, so i can only assume it is a software bug.

hope this gets sorted quickly!!

Hi Wiliiam, I'm running PTLE 8.0.3 and an MBox2 with SL on an iMac 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo with the maximum 3 Gigs of ram. The only issues I have had so far are having to hit cmd + twice to go from the edit window to the mix window, but never the other way around. Also when I'm in mix, if I click on certain inserted plug-ins, that will switch me to the edit window. Other than that I'm having no issues and the jerky playback cursor is GONE! As always, fingers crossed and always saving.
