Sometimes my system wants the rack with my interfaces (192 I/O) to be powered up BEFORE the computer is powered up. Not always... but I'm now in the habit of turning on the rack power one second...

+1 for using DP to write the cues... and then record into PT.
Each piece of music is started in DP as a separate cue. It's just seems easier when adding real players to cues to start on Bar 3...

Check your preferences to make certain you are on the longest possible delay compensation setting. You may have some plugs that cause more delay than the shorter setting.

You may prefer the sound of the SFX (in relation to, say, a downbeat) a little before the beat or a little after the beat due to the way the sound starts... or due to the location of the loudest part...
