Thanks for shedding more light on this, it makes sense that this could be a latency problem rather than a CPU usage problem. For infos sake a session that was falling over at 48% with hyper threading...

Yes.. Is it possible that the fact that plugins on audio tracks are pre fader, but the plugins on the auxs are post a fader (obviously not post the auxs fader but certainly the audio tracks fader)

It would appear that Auxiliary workflows are definitely contributing to what are causing problems.
My system would play over 350 Pitch II's on Audio tracks but once it hit 80...

1. Imply that the -9173 are in some way because of some action or inaction of the user.

2. don't help those who are getting -9173 on empty sessions

I've proved and there seems to be empirical evidence that there's a substantial difference between the amount of -9173 thrown up in 12.4 and 12.5/6/7/8/8.1

However this is not to say 12.4 will...

I've been back and forth with Avid for months on this. They always blame third party plugins.

Why then support third party plugins if they don't work when a session is only reporting 30-40%...
