Have you done all the Avid Optimisations (avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/troubleshooting/en367983)? Post you full system specs...

Have you done all the optimizations (avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/troubleshooting/en367983) Avid suggests? I do get these on occasion, but 12.8 seems much better then 12.6 and earlier versions...
