Im not sure if the problem is with the device. I run Pro Tools 2018.10 as well and have the same issue. I think this started happening to me one I updated to this version of PT.
Hope they can fix it...

I will definitively experiment only using the preamp portion. I was also thinking about using the compressor in 1:1 mode to allows the 6176 to act as a “tone box,”...
