I use my MAC for design most of the day, and wonder if having the power supply constantly on in the 001 will wear it out prematurely? I dislike the idea of having to unplug the digi from the MAC...

I'm using the Que firewire 4x8x32. The advantages are: FAST, comes with toast, and it doesnt eat up a PCI slot or SCSI port. Plus if you have a G4/400 it blends in nicely with the same graphite...

I'm actually doing graphics (as in Photoshop, Freehand, Web Design...) rather than video, but I think your advice remains the same: to create a separate extension set for Pro Tools...
