Thanks. I had to buy another monthly subscription and do the transaction with the registered iLok2 in the usb port. Now I gotta cancel my "airball" subscription that was hanging in space uselessly...

When I try to open my PT12 subscription, it goes to iLok sign-in but when I enter the correct sign-in, it says there are no licenses.
I did it backwards in that I installed PT12 (on my old iLok)...

Problem solved!!
Under System preferences, opening the fast track pro menu, i simply unchecked "3&4" and checked "S/PDIF input" and voila - no distortion. I found this solution by googling other...

Am running OS X Lion 10.7.3.
Tried "reverting" back to 10.7.2 - same issue.
Protools version is 9.05.
All sound has a metallic ringing distortion sound to it.

Funny noise with new installation
So Protools 9 worked great on macbook, but installed it on new iMAC and it sounds very distorted when I try to play previous files. Everything sounds like its going through a tunnel of rattling...
