Re: > Elastic Audio - Artifacts

I have to say, I'm finding elastic audio in PT 8 worse than in PT 7.4. Unfortunately it is now next to useless for me. Beat Dective and crossfading still produces less artifacts in my opinion. I...

hi. I'm getting pretty consistent crashes in both LE and HD when resizing/selecting new MIDI controller lanes. Anyone else? Digi?

Re: PT8 and RTAS instruments... is it better??

Hey phil,

I totally agree. If there are so many developers having trouble coding for RTAS then perhaps it's time Digi admitted to themselves what the real problem is ie the architecture of RTAS...

Re: Magma PE6R4

I got from a place here in Australia. I got a JSP Bluefire2 600w, but I think you can get pretty much any standard ATX PSU as long as it more or less fits the specs. Here is what Magma said when I...

Re: Magma PE6R4

Insanely loud. You pretty much have to replace the power supply to make it quiet. I did that as well as put in a quiet fan. It is now almost silent.

Re: Magma Chassis Decisions

I recently upgraded from a Dual 2.5 Ghz G5 to a new 8 Core 2.8ghz. As you mention in point 3 I also sold down from my HD3 to HD 2 and bought the Magma PE6R4.

I have found the RTAS power to be...

Re: anyone running tiger smoothly on new 8 cores?

I don't know as I'm running a Mac Pro with the Radeon 2600. But I'd be surprised if it did!

Re: anyone running tiger smoothly on new 8 cores?

No you have to use an iMac Mid 2007. It's all due to the graphics drivers. The graphics drivers for the 2008 Mac Pro are the same as those on the iMac. I'm running PT 7.4 on Tiger. I don't see why...

Re: anyone running tiger smoothly on new 8 cores?

It's not difficult at all...unless you don't know anyone with a Mid 2007 iMac. If you do know someone, grab an external hard drive, install their original Tiger DVD onto that external drive, boot up...

Re: Magma PE6R4 Problem

I was having similar problems to you initially. Inside the chassis there is a 'load resistor', the little gold thing in front of the PSU. When I attached this (mine was initially unattached)...

Re: Anyone using the Magma PE6R4 with new \'Harpertown\' Mac P

Well, after i'd set the system up I tried Digitest (before I tried booting tools) I got repeated errors:

Re: Anyone using the Magma PE6R4 with new \'Harpertown\' Mac P

I tried an HD2 and Magma PE6R4 with Protools 7.4.1cs2 and OS X 10.5.1 last night. And couldn't get it to work. Digitest also returned some weird errors. I guess it's not qualified yet, but I was a...

Re: new 8 core & PT 7.4.1 compatible with apogee X-HD card?

I will be setting an Apogee Rosetta 800 and X-HD card with the same computer as you have soon, but also with a Magma PE6R4 chassis in between. Have you emailed Apogee about your problem?

Re: Loop Sync or Word Clock in? Help please....

Thanks for that. It didn't really help though. I'm using an X-HD card in the Rosetta. Anyone else got any ideas?

Loop Sync or Word Clock in? Help please....

Hi,

Re: 20-bit ADAT Bridge on 192io legacy port?

No it's not possible to use a 20 bit ADAT bridge. You can use a 24 Bit ADAT bridge and hook up the Lightbridge, I do that myself.

Protools HD to \"HD II\" upgrade price speculation....?
