Re: How to copy and paste automation?

I'd do this by entering the Auto Preview mode, then selecting a range (or just placing the cursor) where the automation values I want to copy are, then I'd open the plug-in window and press...

Re: Help - Can't contain 'Reverb' with sends

Isn't the FMP (Follow Main Pan) button enabled in the send window? If so, disable it.

Re: No Differences in PT9 HD and Pt9+CPTK2?

It is very likely, as the VSO alters the playback sample rate (AFAIK).

Re: VCA vs. Buses

+1. I use both in the same way. Track groups (dia, sfx, music, etc.) are sent to appropriate busses where any group processing is going on, and the VCA's control level of each group. This way you get...

Re: Exporting or Bouncing?

Yep. That's the easiest way to do it. Just send both tracks to some bus and create an Aux Input to bring it back to the mix with all the group processing you need.

Re: C24, its analog section!

It's hard to answer this, because it's quite a matter of a subjective opinion.
But, if I have to, I'd say:
1) It doesn't "sound". To me it seems that what goes in goes out. There probably is some...

Re: Adjusting level of a region within a track - like Media Composer

I'm not sure right now, to be honest, as I usually use this method only for some initial and very coarse gain settings with the transport stopped. But AFAIK it can be done while playing back - just...

Re: Adjusting level of a region within a track - like Media Composer

No, there is no region-based volume trim in PT. There are different "workarounds" like using Trim plug-in automation, AudioSuite Gain, or switching the track view to the volume lane and do...

Re: Starting up with the 32-bit or 64-bit kernel

Sure, some older drivers may not work on 64-bit kernel so switching to 32-bit solves that. But the OP was asking what's better for Pro Tools itself, so I'd say unless he has any of these...

Re: Starting up with the 32-bit or 64-bit kernel

I run PT on 64-bit kernel and it runs flawlessly. I tried 32-bit kernel too, but there was no difference, so I set it back to default 64-bit. If you don't have any problems and everything works fine,...

Re: Avid you need to address this issue on eBay immediately!

I haven't seen anyone this stupid for quite a long time. :D Selling these things on a public auction requires having balls of steel. His nick should be "DukeNukem". :D

Re: Is it possible to rescan plugins?

Basically, yes. You have to run all your 3rd party plug-in/VI installers to get necessary .dpm files into the DAE Plug-ins folder.

Re: C24, its analog section!

I have no problems with the monitor section at all. It's very quiet (at least on my unit). I like it, it's VERY flexible (i.e. independent level trims on all inputs and outputs, adjustable dim level,...

Re: MOTU PCI 424 max inputs Pro Tools 9??

No, 32 simultaneous I/O really is the maximum. It's a limitation given by Avid, not the technology.

Re: Fostex MR16 as audio interface

Basically, no. According to the Fostex website the MR16 can't be used as an audio interface for a DAW. AFAIK, none of these all-in-one multitracks can't do it.

Re: Help Connecting 003 Rack and C|24

It's given by the design of the 003 interface. It's quite a common practice for many manufacturers to make their interfaces unable to override the internal preamps when using a line level signal. I...

Re: Help Connecting 003 Rack and C|24

1) The preamps in the C24 are the same as in the 003, there's no difference. Just FYI.

2) The C24 has nothing to do with the I/O setup. The 003 is your interface so you still have 8 analog inputs...

Re: Surround track/bus/pan/effects still hardware dependent??

No, it should work regardless of the interface. You should have the ability to create surround tracks, busses, panners or effects even without a surround capable interface (you won't be able to...

Re: new c24, 9-16 faders dead after update

What you mean? Does PT try to update it again, or the update still doesn't finish correctly?

Can you try updating it from another computer?

Re: new c24, 9-16 faders dead after update

Yes, it really looks like the firmware update wasn't completed.

It can be reset:

But this will not reset the firmware of the fader banks, only the comm board firmware, which will force PT to...
