In the upper left of the edit window (just under the shuffle,spot,etc modes) you have to turn the tab to transient button on. Then you can drop your cursor into the snare track and hit the tab key....

Actually if we're talking history repeating itself, it would seem more comparable to the PT 3 nubus to PT 3 pci era. At least the PT 24 farm cards worked with a Mix system.

Get an OWC Firewire case, and just buy raw IDE drives... $50 can get you a 20gig drive. Just pop it in the case and drag it over. Then just put it on the shelf.

I burn and verify a nearly full (usually about 3.8 gigs) DVD in a little over an hour... Way better than babysitting a cd burner. And no splitting across disks. Plus the same burner burn cds.

I've used the Tascam 2424s and just transfered the files via a disk copy to PT (usually am doing 48 tracks). Sure is better than doing a digital transfer. Now with Damsel, I can do the same thing...
