Thanks for the response- That I was... and good work by Jon Ragut to make that happen, since Digi wouldn't. Oh well. Its sort of ridiculous that this "Pro Tools interface" can't be used to play back...

For the record, I'm trying to hear my system (WMP, VLC, etc.. not just ProTools) thru the Mbox.. which I was able to do just fine on XP..

Have tried a different mic input, different mic, both with the same results- but haven't tried trashing preferences/permissions yet.. I'm on PT 7.3.1 w/a dual 1.8 G5, how do I go about doing that?

Call Digi, get an RA# and take it to your local dealer; they'll fix it for free.

I brought mine in yesterday, and they fixed it in 3 HOURS... I'm very pleased..

Complete lunacy! Someone just doesn't want you to get a G5- I've got a dual 1.8, and I can load up TONS of D-Verbs in a session, not to mention T-Racks compressors and EQs... Never had a slowdown...

Glad I bought a dual 1.8 when it wasn't the lowest model, so it has the PCI-X slots... although of course, had I been able to wait 5 weeks, I would have been able to get a dual 2.0 at the same...

Well, it sucks that no one responded to you sooner, but it's a problem that is very common on the 002/002r's- your power harness and/or power supply has gone bad- call Digi and they'll repair it free...
