I'm trying to open a very important session and it scans everything, but once it gets up to scanning Kontact 5, it gives me "unexpected data chunck (file corrupt) message. I can't even open the...

Re: Delay when Bouncing to Disk

It is probably because of your plugins. Check the Delay Compensation and make sure that you're not going over. I had this problem with a Video editor who I was mixing an even for him.

I used some...

Re: Missing Audio Files Solution (Multiple Drives)

Thanks Glenjb.

I'm not actually importing. I am dragging and dropping Sound FX from the Finder window right into Pro Tools on the arrange page.

If I import, as opposed to dragging and...

Thanks Kristo Kotkas!

The HDx card's in the Venue have two ports, Port A & B. I did see 48 inputs +16 assignables when I pulled up the i/o settings. I thought I was using 2 cables for 48 channels...

Missing Audio Files Solution (2 Drives)

Can anyone give me a solution to this problem please?

I'm working on a project. My Pro Tools session is saved on one firewire hard drive. My sound fx library is on a completely separate hard...

Re: DigiLink Cable from Venue to Pro Tools Native

So I got it working. The Venue has to have the HDx cards installed. Each card has a Port A and a Port B. You take a Dlink cable from Port A of the Venue's console to to Port A on your card and from...

Re: DigiLink Cable from Venue to Pro Tools Native

I've used MADI to track like 60+ channels but never a Dlink cable with an Pro Tools HD Native Rig and a venue.

I would think that it would be an easier set-up because it's all Avid.

Just...

Re: DigiLink Cable from Venue to Pro Tools Native

Craig F,

Yes sorry. I meant to say an Pro Tools HD Native system.

Are these the cables that I need? And if so, what is your method of setting the actual session up, including going in to the...

DigiLink Cable from Venue to Pro Tools Native

I'm recording a full band along with Pro Tools playback.

I know that many people record with a regular HD system, but is it possible to achieve this with a Pro Tools Native system?

If so how?...

Re: Left/Right volume balance is way off.

Do you have a session template with Pro Tools? Does it do the same thing if you created a new session with new audio to run just as a test?

If you see the meters being leveled (L&R) in Pro Tools...

Re: Is the Waves Chris Lord Alge Signature plugins pretty good?

The CLA 76 (Black & Blue Face), CLA 2A, & 3A is good if you're going WAVES.

If you're looking for the first batch of plugins from Waves, I would start with the Waves Ren Bundle. Must have.

Re: No sound with Motu Microbook2

It looks like the Motu Microbook has a USB 2 option and it seems that you've plugged it in correctly because it is working with iTunes.

Sometimes Pro Tools doesn't automatically see your audio...

Re: Recording at a rate of 5 Gb/s efficient enough

I only record w/Firewire 800 and 7200rpm (important). I never had any issues until I had to use a 5200 rpm drive. Pro Tools kept stopping.

Never used USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt for recording, but did...

Re: Workflow question for plugins and inputs.

I'm going to try this as well. But is this automation on the track, or will it change the parameters within all the plugins on the aux track?

Re: Workflow question for plugins and inputs.

Thanks Drew. This is definitely a great solution to the problem that I was having. I first highlighted each BG Stack Aux in the mix window, then created a group for those tracks. Then I went in to...

Re: Workflow question for plugins and inputs.

Right. But is there a way to do them across the board on each BG Stack AUX channel instead of having to do it every single time right before I record?

I would like each BG Stack Aux track to be...

Re: Workflow question for plugins and inputs.

I read Drew's advice and watched the video as well. But I'm not sure if I'm explaining this very well. And my apologies. I have an extensive template that includes BG going all the way to BG Stack P....

Re: Is is possible to change the shortcuts for the Pencil Tool, Grabber Tool, ETC?

I think QuickKeys4 would help what you're trying to accomplish. I heard great things about this program, especially with Pro Tools.

Re: Workflow question for plugins and inputs.

This might be a good option. I never thought about this one. The only thing is that I would have to go through the trouble of first duplicating the track (BG Stack A", then renaming the track to...

Workflow question for plugins and inputs.

I usually like to create Aux's for each background stack that I do. On BG Stack A, I usually have an EQ, compressor, and on the sends maybe some delays and reverbs, etc on that Aux track.

The...

Re: Master & slave systems, 'freewheel'

The easiest way to do this is just do it via Midi and let the two computers chase each other. Stop A, then B continues, Stop B, then A continues. They keep running until you take them OFF LINE...
