Yea, I already use kontakt with memory server on. But talking about kontakt, aren't you sad about the lack of/audition features of this soft! It's so slow!!...

I just installed so I have 20GB ram in an 8core mac pro (2 X 2.26Ghz).

I run PT 8.1cs2
The machine has 2 HD Accel cards and a UAD quad.

So, the problem is now fixed.
My dealer had turned of spotlight indexing for the disk I use for Audio (an internal drive). I turned it back on cause I couldn't find my files, not even thinking...

When I boot pro-tools it takes like 20 minutes to boot!
Then Loading a song is the same! Very slow!

I have no clue what has happened.

DAE prefs folder

I can't find a key command for browsing between the different keyboard focus areas (the A-Z buttons).

So its a bit annoying to have to click on the screen to be able to use a key...

I'm just no cpu wizz. And don't want to be one. But I use keycommands in those few and selected apps I'm using.

For me it wasn't constant crash. Just often and also a clicking sound instead of the plug playing like it should. Even though I haven't tested a lot by now it seems this also...

I work on one, a macpro with HD2 and UAD. On my laptop only logic. But then occasionally I go to other studios primarily for mixing. They usually have consoles in colab with PT.

Yes! Assignable key commands would be an easy and good solution. Logic had that for at least ten years.
I do though agree it can be a strength all studios uses the same key commands, so it's easier...

I have for ten years used TDM as hardware. For many years I used logic because of speed as the software.

Now I made the switch to Pro Tools, since I couldn't upgrade logic...
