Pro tools free and Guitar Port

Is anyone using Guitar Port as an interface to the sound blaster card and then into Pro tools Free?
As soon as I record enable a track, I get a distortion that is not related to too much input gain....

Can anyone recommend a way to get 16 inputs to my Digi 001 and maintain 24 bit integrity? I have 2 ADAT XT's ( 16 bit ) but don't want to do that. Thanks,

I do this alignment all the time. I , however align the overheads to the rest of the close miced drums. I am also very big on the natural room sound done in a garage or big wooden room. I have found...
