Re: Persistent DAE error 9073

Hey Darryl, I though most HP machines (ie. Windows 8) support thunderbolt, such as the Z series? Not sure as far as lop tops go.

Re: Pops and clicks while working with audio for picture in 24 bit 48 khz

Could also be poorly configured hardware - ie. incorrect clock / sample / bit rate configuration, this ofter results in clicks and pops. If you are not getting the noise on the same computer using...

Re: Looking for Windows Laptop advice

^ Me too lol! Does windows support thunderbolt? - I know the ports are on most gigabyte main boards but I have never heard of any windows users utilising TB

Re: PT 10.3.7 no playback

Yes, we had the same problem on OS X - the UAD stuff sux. It seems to run very inefficiently, we could limp along with a very small buffer size but not worth the hassle. We bought native Waves stuff...

Re: PT 10.3.7 no playback

Hey mate, can you provide a little more info - OS version computer ect.

It is unlikely that PT is working fine then suddenly stops working properly - have you recently installed any new drivers,...

Re: Persistent DAE error 9073

Darryl has some good advice, I too would be cautious of the Windows 'qualified' machines. The mac book pro is safe, they now come standard with Flash drives (Faster than a SSD). We have several of...

Re: Mavericks (OSX 10.9) Not recommended yet

I have just started testing all other apps on 10.9 using a dedicated testing machine. I heard that PT10 is a no go, but I haven't tested this myself yet but I can only assume if Avid have...

Re: Persistent DAE error 9073

I'm not saying you are wrong, I know this. I'm saying Avid contradict themselves. Look:

The following Apple computers have been tested and approved by Avid for use with Pro Tools 10.3.4 software...

Re: Persistent DAE error 9073

Maybe we could hire you to come install some NAS drives and get things under control?

I am not representing any organisation, I am simply sharing my experiences just like everyone else. My...

Re: Persistent DAE error 9073

If that is true, why in the 5 years of using iMacs have we never encountered a hard drive related DAE error? Do the math, > 200 iMacs over a period of 5 years - how can you argue with that statistic?...

Re: Persistent DAE error 9073

How exactly do you propose to install a second drive in an iMac? BTW these are listed as "qualified" machines by Avid, and they only have 1 HD.

How could you possibly describe such a great number...

Re: Persistent DAE error 9073

I acknowledge this, but we have over 200 computers running PT flawlessly with only 1 7200rpm HD (with the exception of our two main Mac Pro production computers). The only DAW errors we have had in...

Re: PT 10.3.7 not recognizing 002 rack

If it appears in system preferences, it indicates that it is most likely working and incorrect user configuration. Choose the 002 in OS X's system preferences, then choose it as your playback engine...

Re: Persistent DAE error 9073

You are right, although a 7200RPM drive will suffice. My point was it's like putting the interior of a BMW in a Daewoo, but that is ultimately the owner's decision

Re: Persistent DAE error 9073

Good point Darryl, I didn't see that! Although a good HD is necessary we have many computers with one single 7200 SATA drive that run PT flawlessly (Although SSD's are great they are very expensive,...

Re: Persistent DAE error 9073

At the risk of sounding like a snob, in my experiences these lenovo machines can barely support work processing. A good computer is determined not only by the components but the compatibility and...

Re: Selling PT10 WITH the iLok-I have no need for it. QUESTIONS.....

From experience, I would recommend paying the $25 for iLok to transfer the license. In the event that the iLok fails, the buyer would not be able to retrieve the PT license.

Yes, you can download...

Re: Pro Tools 10 and digi 002

The issue is you are using an unsupported OS. Go back to 10.8, or wait until 10.9 supports PT and associated drivers properly

10.9 is not yet supported, in future check compatibility before upgrading an OS

Re: Please HELP pro tools 10 and OS X mavericks

I would have to disagree with this. If you are worried about it just schedule the backups to occur during a time when you are not working with Pro Tools. Time machine is one of OS X's best features...

Re: Please HELP pro tools 10 and OS X mavericks

I'm sure a patch for PT will be out soon. For future reference always run time machine or manual backup (Like carbon copy clone), especially when doing such a major upgrade

Re: Please HELP pro tools 10 and OS X mavericks

It was only just released a few days ago, it is obviously not going to support a lot of third party software yet, that is common sense. Do you run time machine? If not you will have to do a clean...

Mbox Pro 10.3.7 Kernel Panic

FYI Avid: Just helped a friend setup their new Mac book Pro PT10 / 11 and Mbox pro. The drivers provided with the Mbox pro cause a kernel panic. OS X would not boot after installing the suggested...
