i know I'm probably the only person who can say this, but pro-tools is FULLY FUNCTIONAL in 64 bit (vista home premium), on my machine. i have no clue as to why this is, though. I'm just happy it does...

BFD Lite stopped working Randomly

was working fine for the longest time. my pc crashed and i had to do a hard reboot (pro-tools wasnt running at that moment) and not i get a DAE error when i try to launch BFD Lite. (error #9006)

well, i also have a quad core as it was a good price. i havnt done a dverb test, but in fl-studio im running project files at 30% cpu that ran my buddy up to 90%.

but seriously, CPU speed hasnt...

always choose faster over cores.
multi-cores dont do much unless you are runing a bunch of applications at once. honestly, they are a sign of failure to make faster CPUS. ide much rather a 15 ghz...

Ok, i have found a minor Issue with the audio drivers in general. they dont like sleep mode on my pc. if my pc comes out of sleep mode, i get no audio output untill i reboot.

this issue happened to me before.
the golden question is: is your hardware hooked up to a USB Bus. you may not see one, but the front of a pc usually is a bus connected to a pci-usb card or what...
