Ghost or otherwise backup your current image before the install just in case.

I think Bloomfield is just the codename for the i7-9xx series processors (or Xeon 35xx server procs). See here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomfield_(microprocessor))

Fitz, looks good except for 1GB on the vid card. Probably best to drop that to 512MB or less according to previous posters. I'm happy with my 5450 512MB but most seem to use 4000 series cards.

First off, try to buy ram that's on the Gigabyte support doc (http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/FileList/MemorySupport/mb_memory_ga-x58a-ud3r.pdf).
Also, I see that Gigabyte is now listing a Rev 2.0...

As was mentioned, there are plenty of success stories with the Gigabyte and I think I just had a bad board so you should be fine...

Ah, makes sense :)

Well I didn't read your post until after I made some additional tests so I ran 48 tracks + Aux instead of 32 + Aux and got 325 Dverbs @ 1024 so whoever said there was a 10 Dverb...

24-bit, 48KHz
H/W Buffer 1024: 325 Dverbs [Edit] Was 313 when running 10 Dverbs per track instead of 5 Dverbs per each of 48...
