Re: Jumping Ship

I've heard many talk about switching to a Mac Pro Tools system and how much this is going to cost them. I'd like to suggest that any company who would treat us this way probably isn't worth staying...

Re: i am strarting to doubt pro tools

davemc,
Lexicon still makes Lexiverb and has the final say on what DAWs it supports. Digi only distributes it. Still, you'd think they have enough pull to apply the necessary pressure for an NT...

Please read my new post at the bottom of the "I'm starting to doubt Pro Tools" topic. Sorry about the length but I think the issues in the post are significant.

Thanks

Re: i am strarting to doubt pro tools

I just wanted to set the record straight about why I've participated in this forum. I am "happy", as a general statement, with Pro Tools NT. I don't enter my comments just to rant or blow off steam....

Missing Pieces

It's ironic that Pro Tools, which is arguably the best DAW available, is lagging behind ALL other companies (including themselves-on the Mac). What I mean by that is that the Mac version of Pro Tools...

Re: Ac Guit and pick noise ...

I've done the following with string squeaking and fret board noise. Maybe this will apply. Use some kind of spectrum analysis to find out exactly where the frequencies are that you want to eliminate....

Re: Protools MixPlus NT System questions

CORRECTION:
Of course, what I meant to say in the above post was, "128 megs of RAM", not "12 megs of RAM", sorry.

Re: Protools MixPlus NT System questions

You can use PT with 12 megs of RAM but in order to get 64 tracks on a mix plus system you will need 256 megs.
I'm using an ASUS P3-B motherboard and it is powerful enough to power the Digi cards....

Mike,
Here are the steps to setting up your machine
to dual boot (The following assumes a clean OS install):

Re: NT Drive size

Azman,

Version 5.1 and Win 2000

First of all, Pro Tools is the best product of its type, in my opinion. It makes sense to me that the best DAW should allow us, not hold us back, from using the best OS. Digi, please give us Win 2000...

One more comment on the NTFS problems of "ghost audio" and "sudden obnoxious noise": instead of just fixing the NT 4 NTFS problems, why not give us Win 2000 compatibility with PT 5.01. There are so...

I defrag all my audio drives daily, and the problem still persists. If ProTools can't find the file, it should just say so, not substitute the wrong one, regardless of the level of...

Re: Broken file or PT5 bug, TechSpt?

Just wanted to add my voice to the outcry on this problem. Pro Tools is bringing up the wrong regions, and in many cases the wrong files about 25% of the time. In other words, one or two files will...

Re: Bypassing an ADAT BRIDGE....

You need the JL Cooper DataSYNC 2. It converts incoming MTC to ADAT 9 pin sync and vice versa. I purchased mine through Sweetwater at 1-800-222-4700 for $219.00 but it was a with a huge purchase so...
