Re: Why Are We Paying For 20 Years of Unimpressive Innovation

I don't understand how you don't feel like you're the next to get screwed. If HD now costs 5x the price to upgrade solely the SOFTWARE, that's a price that is unfeasible to my bottom line. I didn't...

Re: Why Are We Paying For 20 Years of Unimpressive Innovation

This is exactly how I'm feeling. We won't be upgrading. This has been a slap in the face to our investment.

Re: Audio playback stops during bounce

I did try and bounce to a track, it worked well enough. While it was bouncing though I still wasn't able to hear the playback. The audio passed, but nothing was audible. I will try and check up on...

Audio playback stops during bounce

Just wanted to see if anyone had some help they could offer before I cashed in on some phone support.

I'm having an issue where I'm losing the audio during bounces. Currently running on PT8, but...

Re: ilok a scam?

I've had mine on a keychain and never had a problem in the year that I carried it that way. Plus, if you watched the videos on their website, they show how you can actually use a rocket to shoot it...

Re: Mic preamp?

I got my Peluso for about 1275, so I'd say the comment about getting a C 414 instead was a little off. I would hands down say that the Peluso goes above and beyond the 414 in every respect. Now...

Re: Hey Digi...PT shuffle sucks...

Sometimes you can rearrange the plug-ins on the cards in a different way that what ProTools does and actually get everything to fit. This was only with a few plugin combinations for me, but it is...

Re: mic pres

How would I compare what? The Germaniums?

Hands down, THE BEST mic pre's I have ever used. They sound wonderful! The only thing I want to get still is the LTD-1 or an API lunchbox full of BAE,...

Re: MAC OR PC?!?!

Sounds like you might have a ghost in your studio. I've never had to have a 192 serviced, but I've never used the PRE.

I don't even see a very good reason (at least in my experience) for using...

Re: MAC OR PC?!?!

The firewire connection to what? I hope you don't mean the interfaces.

I've only experienced kernel panics on an Apple computer maybe 5 times in the 2 1/2 years that I've been running ProTools...

Re: mirror installation on powerbook and g5?

A pretty similar situation that I was in was that I worked at a studio that had HD, and I owned an LE system on my powerbook. In order to use my plugins and keep all of my preferences saved I bought...

I was unaware of this. How come you are only able to use 16 of the available?

Re: What to buy with all this money...

I'd get an Alan Smart C2 before the SSL Comp. Dual mono, sidechainable, and Alan Smart did a lot of work with SSL's so his design is pretty close.

Re: suggestion for Insert Only Interface

2 192's with 1 AD card and 1 DA card? Sounds pretty good to me! I don't know about you, but for me that sounds great!

Okay, well I guess we had a misunderstanding then. I was taking all this to mean you weren't trying the solutions I was offering. I apologize.

The reason that you want to make a new track is...

Re: advice, friends little vocal studio

Just a little biased opinion here. Mac is better. Getting a Mac Mini with a Core Duo is much better than a lower priced PC alternative.

Re: Having alot of trouble

You should really just try some of these things before you go on saying they don't make sense. I've been trying my best to give you answers to your problems, but if you just shoot them down before...

Re: Having alot of trouble

Like I said earlier, mute the track while you record, and then set the mix on the playback/input knob to about 50/50. You might have to set up additional tracks to do punches, and then manually edit...

Re: Having alot of trouble

Well truthfully, your mixes are going to translate poorly using a system like you have. You'd be much better off have a pair of studio monitors dedicated to your recording setup.

But... what are...

Re: New System?

HD is definitely a TREMENDOUS leap in quality from LE. First off, you're not using host based processing anywhere near as much, so the amount of power you have at your disposal is exponentially...

Re: Having alot of trouble

First off, I wouldn't hook your Mbox into your Audigy before it hits the speakers. I would just disconnect your speakers from your computers sound card and connect them to your Mbox outputs. If...
