Re: Mbox 2 Mini: output is okay but inputs don't work

Thanks for the reply, Adam. I'll try the update and playing with restarting PT a few times and see if I can get any results.

Mbox 2 Mini: output is okay but inputs don't work

I am on a late 2009 MacBook Pro running 10.6.4, just installed Pro Tools 8.0.3 (clean install; this computer has never run Pro Tools before) and I can play back audio from ProTools or iTunes with no...

Re: Apogee Rosetta or BLA mod with Digi 002 or don\'t bother?

I just recently got the BLA mod and posted my findings on Sweetwater's forums. But I thought you might like to hear:

Okay, so not only have I now had a chance to do some recording and mixing with...

Magic ID does not match? WTF is this?

So my session is at a stand-still right now because PT 7.0 keeps quitting and when I try to open the backup file I get the error that the magic ID does not match.

I know I need to update to the...

Re: Nedd good pre and Mic for Vocals..budget!

Groove Tubes GT55 and a PreSonus Eureka (you can get them for under $400).

I've had a lot of luck with that combo.

Re: Learning to get a \"pro\" sound out of LE

So you're paying $180 to watch someone else run a session pretty much? If you're nearby it might not be a bad deal. You can always learn something new. But I'd be weary of stuff where they're...

Anybody here had their 002 modified?

A friend of mine showed me Black Lion Audio (http://blacklionaudio.com/digi002_mod.html)'s 002 mod this evening and I'm VERY interested as I'm not a fan of the 002 hardware. Anybody had this done,...

Re: HD 192 how to get 32 ad/da in and out?

The 192 comes stock with 8ch of analog I/O and 8ch of digital I/O. You can add an extra A/D or D/A card into a 192 to give it a total of 16 analog inputs and 8 analog outputs OR it can have 8 analog...

Re: benchmark dac1 via spdif out on mbox 2

Yes, you can although I'd see about maybe clocking your Pro Tools session to wordclock on the DAC since it is without a doubt going to be much higher quality than the Mbox.

Re: more insert slots, please....

Yes but do you have more than 5 of those auxes applied to any 1 track?

I regularly have 5-8 stereo aux returns running in every session but just 5 sends was enough to get it done. But having 10...

Re: more insert slots, please....

I've still never had a circumstance where I needed more than 5 Aux sends. But it's handy for organization that I can have things with some sort of order and cohesion across my mix windown; Reverb is...

Re: Optical outs on 192 don\'t work in 96k mode ?

Digi has yet to incorporate S/MUX technology to allow optical at higher sample rates. S/MUX is used on a lot of interfaces to do optical at higher sample rates, at the cost of using more ports. 1...

Re: more insert slots, please....

There are times where I fill up the insert bank on a channel. The main problem with bussing to another track is that now your delay comp is messed up (be it automatic or manual). I don't think it's...

Re: Waves SSL 4000 Plugins

They're fantastic. I downloaded the demo and as soon as it expired I bought them. They became that central that quickly in my mixes. Great plugins.

Re: Is the Control 24 being discontinued?

What does it matter if it's discontinued? That won't stop it from doing what it does, will it?

If you're really that concerned about having something that isn't currently in production, buy a...

Re: URGENT! Error when importing OMFI from Avid

Trash the Digidesign Databases on every disk volume you have, reboot the system and see if that doesn't fix it.

Apogee converters; X-HD Card vs. 192 Digital I/O

Things seem to be coming together for the big upgrade and I'm trying to figure out how I should string all this together.

I'm interested in using Apogee converters and the X-HD cards look they'd...

Re: possible to input ADAT pipe to 192? 96k session

Not in this case; Digi has yet to put out a product that supports S/MUX for sample rates above 48k over lightpipe.

Re: Rate these mics!

OHs I'd submit a pair of the MXL 603S or 604. I've got a pair of 603S's and I love the hell out of them.
Toms I use the e604 pack when I don't have access to a set of MD421s; never used the 904s...

Re: alesis m1 active mk2 or yamaha hs50m monitors

I've got the Alesis ones. Honestly they get the job done but are far from awesome. If you've got NO monitors then they're a step up. A little lacking in the high end, the low mids aren't all that...

Re: Problem Bouncing To Disk

Delete the Digidesign Databases from every disk volume (hard drive or partition) on your system, empty the trash and reboot everything. That should fix the problem.

Re: OSX burning softwr that allows negative lead time?

I didn't mean like a crossfade. I meant like if you listen to tracks A and B, and track A ends at 5:00 then track B plays from -0:32 to its end time of 3:45. But if you just skip to track B, you...
