What helps in these situations is the 'clean slate' approach.
It takes time, but you gotta ask yourself what is worse... crashing all the time or at least have a fighting chance to mend the...

All the systems I configure are equipped with Western Digital RE2 series drives. I find them to be the best, durable, fast and quiet.
They are great for fitting in Raid arrays too.

I had the exact same problem, exact same machine, but with 8 GB RAM.
In my case it was dust/dirt in the power supply, preventing adequate cooling and thus the system shut down to prevent...

The IOs ordered are for our FCP rooms. But we have also hybrid systems, running FCP and HD3Accel on 1 machine.
Since the IO connects through FW, and is in se nothing more than a fancy...

Not sure what problems you mean, but I am running a rig here with PT HD3 Accel, 10.4.8, G5 Dual 2.3 6GB RAM, and Final Cut Studio with no problems whatsoever.
I export the audio as OMF and import it...

OK, I did some more tests...

- the boot behaviour only seems to appear with Digi Core and HD Accel cards.
- I did not have boot problems with other cards
-> Cards tested were: - Sonnet E4p eSATA...

Ok, finally I was able to remedy this mess.
This problem caused me quite some headaches, since it was on a customer's machine. I went as far as giving him a totally new MacPro to keep him happy....

Or rather a customer of ours. I installed the Midi I/O conform specs and used a high quality CAT5 extender for the USB (the macpro is in the machine room)....

I have the latest Guru beta too (am on the list too).
No problems so far, except for the known bugs in the beta. I think Angus said there will be a new build in the coming days.

I had the same thing with Stylus RMX. It quits on me when I rapidly switch between window sets.
I will check the Korg and Carmel tonight and report back.

Also, check if there are no special characters (accents, umlauts, etc.) in the region or track names. Had this once and it wrecked the same havoc.
