Backgournd vocal cue-up trick:
I'll record a warmup pass and copy it to a deactivated track right below my lead track. I can then use this as a location guide when recording the actual background...

\"processing\" weirdness...

Something strange is going on here:

1) Session takes forever to open, a window that says "processing" opens up and processes every file each time the session is open.

If you use a large diameter PVC pipe to run between rooms, you can put sand in the pipe after the cable is run to seal it. Easily removed with a shopsvac if needed...

Satellite dish mic!
Pull that dish off the side of your (neighbors) house, remove the aperture from the end of the boom arm and mount a mic of choice instead. Then, mount the dish on a mic stand...

The project was recorded analog (Ampex MM1100), the 2 track masters were recorded to 192.

Personally, I believe that mastering to 192 and dithering to 44.1 is an needless extra step. Why not...
