So i started moving the pci cards around and switching the Blackmagic from slot 3 to 1.
And now of course I've completely buggered my system.
Pro tools is stuck on initializing hardware (DSP) on...

Hey, Thanks for the quick response.
Yeah we checked the video out PCI option under "options."
Had no effect.
Its strange though because it works with the provided software?

Hey,
So we purchased a blackmagic intensity pro.
Installed it in the third PCI slot.
Updated the drivers from the website.
Connected the HDMI output to the monitor (HDMI in).
I know the hardware...

No instantiations of TL Space.

Typically 3 DSP's 96 voices.

I just tried running a session of 5 DSP's 48 voices. And its sill super clunky.

Switched to pro tools aggregate and it runs...

Okay - thanks so much for this input. I'm gonna swap out the graphics card first. Hopefully that resolves the situation. Then next step would be to buy the Black magic.

Yeah - I've assigned 8 processors. And will do so from now on. However that hasn't had any effect.

Yeah - that would be a problem for us as we have three slots being occupied by TDM cards.
Do you think switching out the graphics card to the ATI Radeon HD 5770 would fix the issue?

We have 12 gigs of RAM.

PT memory cache is set to 5 gigs. Our sessions rarely exceeds 2 Gigs.

Spotlight and Time Machine are disabled system wide.

Hey Larold,
Thanks for the input. We are running our sessions on RAM CACHE. Same thing. We set ours to about 10 gig. We pretty much never even come close to exceeding usage - our sessions rarely go...

yeah the HQ playback is unchecked - i only wish it was something so simple as that.

Time machine is disabled but I usually have my mail and instant messenger running in the back ground.

I just updated protools and my os and am now running at 8 processors but still experiencing jitter/lag/stutter/sluggishness
