Thanks for all the feedback. I'd been leaning towards the Rode NT-1, so this just made the decision easier, kinda like a life line.

You need either a midi keyboard or a sound module because the midi file is only events that trigger either your keyboard or module. Midi files contain no audio whatsoever. peace

oh yeah uh....the different sound i was referring to was the note by note drawing vs the actually playing of the keyboard, but i guess that would have to do with the velocity or something. later.v

I would like to know how come when i step record my midi from say my keyboard it sounds distinctly different then if i play the keyboard? AND... how do i use the cool controller functions in my midi...
