Hmmm. So would a new mini 6 core i7 with 16gb ram run faster or slower than The machine I'm looking at? If overall performance would be better on the older Mac, I would probably opt to sacrifice...

Thanks so much for all of your thoughts and advice! I'm actually reconsidering Usung an Apollo and maybe going with the Audient id22 or RME Babyface Pro so I can get more bang for my buck with this...
