What track fader setting in protools will give u +4dbu/0VU is it -18dbfs or is it -12 dbfs.

The problem's not the mic pres, although their not great either, it's the Analog to digital conversion and thats inside the Mbox, which you have to go through to get your audio into the computer.

I dont use beata monkey but it sounds like your sample's end does not end exactly on the 0 axis. thats why you get the popping.
