or you could make an aux or master fader and send it to out 3+4, 5+6, etc, and get a headphone amp. I have the same rolls unit described above, but yes, the y cable should be stereo, will work.

No, you can't bring 16 tracks in digitally. I was thinking (my first mistake?) that he could use 8 in on the digi001 and 8 more via lightpipe, and two S/PDIF. All at once.

I'm not positive, but the s6000 adat card is probably 8 outs. if its 16 then it probably has two optical connectors. it will be compatible though.

Well, record directly into the 001 OR record to the ADAT's and then fly into PT, then back to ADAT if you think it's necessary or have a reason to do so.
