just tested here on a 2018 Mac Mini / Monterey. Creating a new session from a template (originally made in PT 22.something) and renaming it worked fine. Maybe a Windows-specific thing?

yes, but it's an artificial limit placed on the user by Avid to force users to buy Avid hardware. All other similar level DAWs (Nuendo, Reaper etc) can do as many core-audio I/Os as the computer...
