Re: Mountain lion compatibility

Yes, 2224, but are you talking about Lion or Mountain Lion, since you mentioned Lion above. Anyway, check my answer to get round the problem.

Re: Mountain lion compatibility

Turbo, and others. I had the same issue with the 9.0.5 installer refusing to launch, just bouncing in the dock. BenP give us a clue, but doesn't explain how to do it. Here's how, after some research....

Re: Who hates ilok?

digi likes to make it out it is no problem as long as you are insured. This is just passing the buck. Even if you are insured, you face a nightmare for an unspecified amount of time. First ZDT (which...

Re: Who hates ilok?

Well, we can start a list of companies that deal fairly with their customers on this issue:

Good guys, who care about their customers:

Spectrasonics
Cycling 74
McDSP

Companies who don't...

Re: Who hates ilok?

I hate ilok, even though I am forced to use it for some plugs. I try to avoid using plugs that use it where possible. Essentially you do not have control or ownership over your purchases. You are...

Re: Transfuser VS Fruityloops - Digidesign PLEASE LISTEN!

Yes, let's hope they respond. I get the feeling that AIR are in fact a tiny company, like many software specialists, and they are probably overwhelmed by PT8 and development schedules. In which case,...

Re: Transfuser VS Fruityloops - Digidesign PLEASE LISTEN!

Excellent points, syra. I really hope the designers read this, but it seems once they make something they don't do much about updating, but move on to other projects.

Re: iLok licenses not really belong to you.

Ok, Michael, I have calmed down a bit since reading this thread, although I am still outraged about the way you have been bullied and blackmailed. I think you should resort to some legal remedies. I...

Re: iLok licenses not really belong to you.

This is outrageous. I don't see that TC have any legal or other grounds for taking the action they have. This is persecution, not business. They could have cleared this up in 24 hours, by cancelling...

Re: Thoughts of LE

Agreed on the timecode situation. It is absurd that Digi attempt to force you into buying a pack full of software you have no need for, or you might have already, just to get timecode functionality....

Re: PT all of the sudden thinks my iLok is password protected

Maybe you should reinstall the Pace files which are needed for iLok, probably available on the iLok website, or with any of the plugs which need them. iLok sucks.

Re: Lost my iLock USB smart key

Yes, the potential loss of an iLok for a gigging, travelling musician is a nightmare. iLok, which is happy to take your money, could come up with a better backup system for such people, and also one...

Re: lost my ilok

Well if the iLok is designed for those people who moonlight around various studios, then it is designed for a small proportion of users. And those of us who mainly work in one place, or take a laptop...

Re: lost my ilok

This is the problem. It is designed to protect companies, not users. Users can take a hike if they lose it, through no fault of their own. It is exactly like a credit card and should be able to be...

Re: lost my ilok

One thing iLok sucks on is this scenario. But it doesn't have to. They could surely have a system where the lost iLok, identifiable by the serial no. is cancelled, so that none of the authorisations...

Re: Maudio interfaces, any better latency than others?

Yes, this is exactly what I was wondering. Being restricted to 512 as the lowest latency on the Mbox is hopeless, unusable. So we need to know if the M audio interfaces can work at a usable latency...

Re: Now I\'m not sure whether to get a G4 Dual 1.25 or the new G5 ??

One advantage of going G4 now is that you will be able to run OS9 for a long time on it. So if you need dual boot, that is not a bad idea. Then upgrade to G5 when the dust settles, and the first...

Re: PLEASE HELP-Will PT6 be able to be used without digidesign hardware?

This is a real shame. As an Mbox owner I would really really like to be able to mix and manipulate tracks in PT while on the road, without having to tote around the Mbox. I realise that the hardware...

Re: Weirdness with MBox and iBook PLEASE HELP!

Do you have the mix control set at input or playback? It should be set to playback to hear through the software (with a small latency).
