Re: The Allenstein Quadzilla Machine *Update 05/20

This is exactly what happens if you do not have the Protools 7 update from waves. I know you said you installed the latest versions but make sure when ProTools loads that the version 5 is 5.03/...

Re: Update on the Dissapearing 1394

Sorry to hear! I was hoping it was something different. I had a card installed and it would disappear the same as the onboard. Eventually even my DVD drive would disappear. So the bad news is...

Re: Dissapearing 1394 (possible resolution?)

I have True Image on my computer but I've never restored or rolled back to a prior image. I don't think that rolling back to a prior image could cause the problem without some kind of warning on the...

Re: Dissapearing 1394 (possible resolution?)

Hopefully that's it. My problems started out very speradically. I was able to "fix" it at first by reloading the drivers. However it started becoming a lot more frequent and started happening to my...

Re: Dissapearing 1394

Be prepared! They'll want you to do some troubleshooting steps before you send it in. They wanted me to take it out of the case and run it to see if the problem disappeared due to a short.

Re: Dissapearing 1394

Yes, I had the same problem after a couple of months of use. Both the onboard firewire and an adaptec card would both randomly disappear from the device manager. Restarts would work at first but...

Re: Allenstein Quadzilla Machine

Make sure you have an instance of the wave rewire plug-in. If you don't make a new stereo aux track. Open the waves rewire plug on it. Clear all the info from within the tunbe plug then let it...

Re: New Quad

That card should be fine. I have the 256mb silent version and it works fine.

Make sure you have it in the top PCIx slot, the second is only a PCIx4 in a x16 input.
I had to file the tops off the...

Re: Allenstein Quadzilla Machine

This explains my problem exactly! It just hasn't made its way to the hard drives or monitors yet. I'll give Tyan a call tomorrow. Thanks for saving me tons of troubleshooting time!!!

Re: Allenstein Quadzilla Machine

Some new problems I'm in need of some help on:

1. My computer will be rolling along fine and then I shut it down for the day. The next time I boot it up it no longer recognizes the PCI firewire...

Re: Allenstein Quadzilla Machine

Now if I could just get them to send me a replacement.

On a side note I took the fan off and turned up my case fans up a little and haven't had any shutdowns.

Re: Allenstein Quadzilla Machine

I was thinking about the ram as well but I don't want to get into checking that until I solve an obvious problem (chipset fan) that can cause the random shutdowns. That's what is so frustrating,...

Re: Allenstein Quadzilla Machine

I just need to vent my frustrations with Tyan technical support.

I called them about 2 months ago because the little black chipset fan on my motherboard quit working. They told me it wasn't that...

Re: Allenstein Quadzilla Machine *guitardom*

One other hardware thing to check. Make sure the little black chipset fan is working. Mine has stopped recently and tonight I got a random shutdown. I talked to Tyan and they confirmed that this...

Re: Allenstein Quadzilla Machine *3J Quad Debunke

I had the same problem. For me it turned out being the connector giving power to the motherboard. The cable doesn't stay in very well. Anytime I would move my machine the cable would come loose...

Re: The Allenstein Quadzilla Machine

In response to this question I think no. The reason is stability. I can't speak for the Athlon x2 but I can throw anything at my quad and not have to worry about errors/performance at all. BFD,...

Re: The Allenstein Quadzilla Machine *Update 05/20

I have the updated BIOS on my quad. If you remeber back from some of my earlier posts it was suggested by Tyan support to rid the reporting problem of the VRM temps in the BIOS.

You cannot create...

Re: The Allenstein Quadzilla Machine *Update 05/20

This is the setup I have. Yes, the 2 screws closest to the board touch the RAM for CPU 2. I took the screws off and filed them down about 5mm. They no longer touch and everything works great. So...

Re: The Allenstein Quadzilla Machine

I use Thermaltake silent 939 and my temps are 38c no load to 42c with load. If you have the Tyan Board you can download the Tyan System Monitor to get readings within the OS. I noticed about a 10c...

Re: The Allenstein Quadzilla Machine

I read through the forum on the link you provided. Could you explain how this affects firewire? Are firewire latency's also included in this tool?

This could be really big!

Re: The Allenstein Quadzilla Machine

Question to Tyan after installing the new BIOS:
