I know that in Logic you have to have the audio files to create an OMF file. Logic will not convert MIDI regions into audio while creating an OMF file. I would assume every other DAW would work the...

I understand what your talking about. I do the same with vocals. Increasing the fader of the armed track to better hear that track during recording, not effecting the recording.

Ensure your recording your vocals at a good level. You don't want them to clip, however if they are too low you'll have to smash them trying to get them in the mix.
