Go to the windows menu, show workspace. make sure the drive you wish to record to is set to record audio and/or video. It there is a p, click on it and change the setting.

Are you recording as aiff files? I recall hearing that there is a time limit to the length of them, perhaps one hour. Have you tried wav files to see if that makes a difference? Hope it helps.
