10.3.9 was working fine when I retired my Mix+ system.... as chief said... QT 7 is the devil... even on Tiger / pt 6.9 - avoid it on all systems till they issue a fix.

Sometimes, a good ol 57 close mic'd doesn't always best represent what;s happening with the guitar amp.

Although a 57 into a Neve pre, is more often, then not, my "Go to" for micing guitar...

we're trading sessions that I'm working on a DP 1.8 G5 w/ 2.5gig of Ram.... some bigger sessions, and her...

Charlie, call your local AFM (Musician's union) ask for a quote, if you "Pay your dues, and remain a member in good standing" what "X" value amount of gear, would cost, to insure through the union.

In my experience, the "robot like distortion" described above only occurs using HTDM versions of the Waves plugins, try TDM or RTAS versions, and see if you can run your C4 all day, without problems.
