True Waves is now utilizing USB drives for licenses. McDSP on the other hand does use iLok. I've transferred my license to a couple of sticks even after checking them for viruses. Waves mentioned...

Well, this console worked fine before the updates and if I just swap the placement of the mouse and the "WAVES" usb it works fine. The internal USB slot has the Factory iLock in it. It's just odd...

Another idea is double bus/assign your desired channels to groups but do not assign the groups to L/R. The group faders can remain muted and down. You double tap the group you want to see spill over...

Downloaded and tried 2.7 and that didn't work. Went back and downloaded 2.5 and that seems to work.
