My experience is that bouncing to disk IS detrimental to the quality. I always record my mixes.
Bounce your mix and pull it back into the session. A/B between the bounce and the actual multitrack...

forget the 30" monitor and get (2) 23" you will want the slot eventually and this is more screen space.

The 20" works great for PT. The pixel ratio is about the same as the original 22"

I will disagree with the previous posts. do not scrap your stereo mix, it probably contains some valuable automation.
