The REAL CPU hog would seem to be RTAS VI's. And PT's Achilles heel of only being able to address 4GB of RAM. Solving one or both would be a huge step forward.

From what I have read so far its only effecting 5-15% of the chipsets. If these figures hold true many folks will be completely unaffected. Whats interesting is that it slipped through Intel's normal...

What Processor? Did the board have the latest BIOS? Did you check the processor against the qualified CPU list for whatever BIOS revision you have? You can have the same thing happen if the processor...

Actually, Acronis True Image* doesn't look too bad for US$50. I have Norton Ghost but it's an older copy and I never really ended up using it. Might have to dig it out and read up on it again.

If you buy Seagate drives they come with a Seagates Disk Wizard disk...Which is just stripped down version of Acronis True Image. You used to be able to download it for free from Seagate.....

4) is mostly true. The cards frame buffer is mirrored by the ever mysterious "system resources" in the 32bit OS (Vista and XP) its reserved by the OS-For the OS and is not a user definable variable....

They are redundant connections and it should work fine with just the 4 pin. Same goes for the 20 pin Vs the 24 pin ATX connector. That been my experience at least.

Anything other than than Windows 95 graphics is expressly forbidden. Eye candy and hardware support is for Mac only. If you insist on making PTLE a smooth, powerful and pleasant Windows experience...

I have the same board as guitardom and as I recall the onboard FW worked just fine.

Well Rusty;) FW support is PT's Achilles tendon....I have had good luck with a few VIA chips, LSI and Agere. None of which are supported and others have had different results. One thing that can help...

I beleive Sandra reads the SPD value not the actual clock speed. This is why we use CPUz for gathering info on RAM timings.
