Very informative. Thanks for the input. Having said that I probably could have put all my samples on the OS drive. It's all good though, I already ordered another HDD for OSX. So when that comes in,...

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results
Awesome sounds good. I mean to be honest, I probably won't even use OSX for much, it's more of an experimental thing. I can plug that into a Sata 2 port. But quick question, when we do a D-verb test,...

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results
Ok so if I understand correctly, that dual hdd box goes inside the computer? Then I put two internal hdd inside of this box? Then I'm guessing you can choose which one is active on the single sata...

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results
That's a pretty cool idea... Don't hot swap drives run off a port from the back of the computer though? When I was talking about the sata ports, I meant the internal ones. Not sure how I would hook...

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results
What CPU do you have now? I still think you could save yourself several hundreds of dollars by going with a 920 or 930. That's all I use is softsynths and I still have ridiculous amounts of headroom....

Re: New Setup, some help would be appreciated

Re: Will i7 computer builds work with XP home 32 bit?
Btw, you can run Win7 with ptle 8 with no probs (depending on your build). Seems like most people with non usb interfaces have gotten the 64bit drivers to work in win 7 and usb people are using 8.0.3...
