No this hasn't made a difference. The file 'com.apple.audio.AudioMIDISetup.plist' was actually nowhere to be found so I only deleted the three others.

Perhaps any other suggestions?!

Yes it is the original Mbox. I am trying to play mainly my iTunes and audio from Firefox/Safari.

It is ProTools 7.1.1 that I have. It doesn't make a difference whether PT is launched or not, audio...
