Quicktimes Itunes update

So, I am updating Itunes to its latest format and it says that it needs quick time 7.4. The last time that I updated to 7.4 I had to go back down versions otherwise it broke PT7. What do I do?

I noticed on the back of my 002 rack recently a "footswitch" 1/4 inch input. Has anyone ever used one of these footswitches? And if so, what are the benefits? Hands-free punching?

So on the back of the 002 rack there are 4 mic pres and 4 quarter inch inputs. Lets say I am recording 8 channels simultaneously, is the only way for me to adjust the trim of the quarter inch input...

Can you write automation for plug ins? (lets say I wanted the reverb to get really saturated, then less) Or is it just easier to process the specific region with the plug in already in it.
