Re: Adobe prefers PC...how long before Digi does?

"White-anting" the process by which an initially robust structure or system undergoes silent, unnoticed and dramatic weakening to the point of irretrivable failure by the steady and relentless...

Re: Adobe prefers PC...how long before Digi does?

Re: Mac/Pc compatability here we go again....

I'd say, make sure that any FAT32 partition isn't greater that 32GB on your HDD.

Re: PC user here, but for how long?

If you're getting into video, I'd definitely check out the real time card DV STorm2...nothing like it on the Mac for DV...as far as I know.
5 layers of video with no rendering, unlimited moving...

Re: Is OS X "crash proof"?

Pity the poor Mac purchaser who believed the false mantra that "Macs just work" ...

More accurately it should be "Macs mostly work" ... much like the humble PC.

Everywhere I see the advice...

Re: PC to MAC Message Count Ratio

You just know that once it passes the Mac forum, then we'll get them saying that we must be more error ridden on this side of the fence. Well PT6 and 10.2.4 seems to have issues ... amongst others...

Re: 001 vs 002

I'm considering an 002. The one thing I need is low, low latency so that the s/w synths are playable, as close as possible to a h/w synth. Does the 002 really provide this?

I'm happy with all...

Re: 002 with SIS chipset no problem?

The problem I had some time back may have precipitated Digi's caution about SIS chipsets since the warning appeared very soon after the problems I had.

Re: New 3.066Ghz P4 \'slaughters\' 1.25Ghz Dual G4

Yes, latency will always be there, however the main contributor to latency, as we feel it, is the time spent from ADC/Midi port buffer- through the computer-and then to the DAC buffer. The ADC and...

Re: New 3.066Ghz P4 \'slaughters\' 1.25Ghz Dual G4

Yeah, I agree, the more speed/power the better. It should even eventually banish latency as an issue and elevate native application performance to the point where, for most productions, DSP cards...

Re: Does anyone here not like Pink Floyd? (inspired by The Wall)

Mind-expanding! It only 'enters' when you are able to release. It gets down to your frame of reference, biospherically speaking.

I'm afraid today's "pep" heads at a bit too agitated and at the...

Re: New G4\'s noise. Time for Apple to realize what we need!

New 3.066Ghz P4 \'slaughters\' 1.25Ghz Dual G4

Are 845E chipset motherboards (like ASUS P4B533) as compatible as just 845 varieties?

I know that Digidesign recommend the Intel 845 chipset on motherboards for PTLE/001. What about the other, later varieties ie. the i845E chipset ... recently released, which adds USB 2.0...
