it is the icon for an audio track. the midi and aux tracks have different icons.

or maybe not, i'm not sure i understand which icon you speak of when you say "in the middle of the song"..

I would get an external firewire drive of moderate size. 250 gig drives scare me. When it dies, you'll be out of a lot of data, and if you're backing up to another medium, you don't need 250 gigs....

640MB RAM

I'm thinking it might be a firmware thing... how do I update a drives'...

The trim plugin is right below the USB Masturbator plugin. Both plugins will give you the same outcome. Just be sure you have the hardware installed properly.
