OSX and AM3

Well aint that something... I swore a long time ago that once I got my ProTools LE update for OSX, it would be the last cent of mine that they ever got. Now it looks like they won't even be getting...

Re: loss of mouse & keyboard

I had NEVER encountered this problem until I bought my first USB MIDI interface a couple of months back. My response has been to blame OMS or the Midisport drivers, but I didn't realise the problem...

Re: Anyone try the 9.2.1 update yet?

No luck here, unfortunately. I haven't shelled out my money for PT 5.1 (I'm broke and, anyway, I need carbonization!) So I'm still on PTLE 5.0.1 and I've had a couple of freezes with DAE and a...

Re: Audiomedia III digital noise on left channel

There was an update released late last year that addressed distortion in the left channel of the AM3 when running PT 50.1.LE. The update should still be up I think... or else you might have to update...

Re: Opinions re: Dual "Startup Disks" or "Extension Sets"?

You don't have to wait for the computer to finish starting up. If you boot while holding down the space bar, Extensions Manager will appear before any extesions load. Then you just select which set...

Re: BURN MAC CD\'S ON PC?

Great idea. Aladdyn's DropStuff encloses the resource fork in everything it stuffs, as does DropZip (but with that, it's an optional setting). So either of those should definitely work.
Gosh you...

Re: BURN MAC CD\'S ON PC?

This kind of depends what you want to do.

If it's just files (like images and audio bites) then the Mac will be able to read the PC formatted disc without a problem anyway, so just burn it and...

Re: Recording Vinyl Records with Pro Tools

For the last couple of years on & off, I've been transferring my father's old records to CD. I've just been using the line out of an old power amp and it sounds incredible. Not noisy in the...

Re: what features have been removed from 5.1LE

If this whole thing is related to the distance you live from Digi HQ, then things certainly don't bode well for us Aussies! And it costs us more too, since our dollar is worth practically nothing!...

Re: petition-we need altivec

DrDVD is spot-on, and I remember reading that exact suggestion (G4 based Digi hardware) a few months back in this very forum. And that was BEFORE the G4e, so the case has even more weight now!
This...

Re: ProTools 5.1 Authorization

What about the Digidesign plug-ins? Isn't it about time they went to serial numbers too?
You'll probably laugh at me, but I haven't updated my D-Fi and D-FX plug-ins to the RTAS version simply...

Re: petition-we need altivec

You poor deluded young idealists...

Don't we all realise that Pro Tools will never have AltiVec support because that would add even more potential for the demise of Digi's TDM goldmine?

Digi...

Re: The blue color scheme is an improvement Vs. the green, thanks digi.

I've been too busy to visit lately, and now I'm jealous. I didn't even get to lay my eyes on this infamous green horror.

Re: Will Pro Tools VI be network savy?

To quote the Simpsons: "You flyboy's crack me up!"

In all seriousness, the new G4s have Gigabit ethernet, which is theoretically fast enough to do remote video editing. That's pretty damn fast!!...

Re: HELP! - strange audio glitches at end of each take

I discovered a similar problem, but mine occurred after applying an AudioSuite Time compression. Haven't seen this on my other Mac with PTLE.

Re: Please change Audio File Creator to ProTools!!!!!

Well if it's not going to work with audio files' creator codes set to Pro Tools, why not have them set to QuickTime Player?
That way, they'll still work perfectly from within Pro Tools, but we'll be...

Re: Older macs, OS X and 5.1

Hold off for just a couple of months and see what the G3 upgrade manufacturers have to say about the OSX public beta (it's due out in a week or so, but give it time to settle). Most of the...

Re: Dedicated PC user takes leap of Faith to MAC

The best resources for MAC-related stuff IMHO:
1) <www.apple.com> Check out their Support pages, particularly the "Tech Info Library" and the "Tech Exchange" sections.

2) <www.macfixit.com> Daily...

When all the MS Internet extensions are disabled, PT runs fine. However, if you try to run IE when those...
