problem solved -------

the #3&4 rca outputs on the back of the fast track pro usb only work in 16 bit mode.

p.s.

in my fast track pro I/O settings it shows:

Analog 1 & 2 along with Mono subs L & R
and Mixed 3 & 4 with Mono subs L & R
(outs 1&2 and 3&4 are check marked ON)

i assume Analog means...

this was where the non-demo version of the digitranslator installed itself in my protools 8 m-powered version of protools.

there is a possibility...

i found the omf.bundle
it was in a diffreent folder.

the omf.bundle lets you export your tracks.
i was thinking it converted a mix to mp3s.

easyfind unfortunately didn't turn up anything.

ii tried yanking that mp3.bundle out but that didn't do anything

p.s. i'm not sure the mp3.bundle has anything to do with the digitranslator, expecially if the uninstall info says to look for the "omf.bundle".

i see something in codecs/mp3/mp3.bundle

which i think is essentially what the digitranslator is.

apart from that i DO have a digitranslator folder, but all it has is documentation...

the fast track software control panel is ver 1.8.0

i see the newest one is 1.9.2 but i'm running os 10.5.8 so i'm wondering if i'm ok or should i update the drivers?

i ran into the same problem using the fast track pro with motu dp 7 too.

i can get the signal and meters happening in outputs 3&4 in the daw software, but it doesn't pass the signal through the...

2.26 intel dual 4gigs, running leopard.

it does it when i adjust a reverb size on a plugin while a track is playing.
